For each of these visas, the minimum score to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) is 65 points. The higher your points, the more likely you are to receive an invitation to apply.
Note: Points criteria are strictly assessed at the time you receive your invitation.

Points are awarded on the basis of the factors listed below.
Your age is calculated at the exact time you are invited to apply for the visa.

You must prove your English proficiency at the time of invitation.

You can only claim points for employment if it was in your nominated skilled occupation (or a closely related one) in the 10 years before you are invited. You must have been employed for at least 20 hours a week.

(Important Rule: There is a cap on employment points. Even if you score more than 20 combined points for your overseas and Australian employment, the maximum awarded is 20 points).

For specific postgraduate degrees by research awarded from an Australian institution after at least 2 academic years of study in specific STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or ICT fields.
