If you took your English test on or after 7 August 2025, you must meet the updated minimum scores to satisfy the Superior English requirements listed below.

If you took an approved English test before the rules changed, your results may still be valid to demonstrate Superior English for up to 3 years from the date of the test (up to 6 August 2028, depending on the visa subclass).
Below are the required scores for tests taken before the change:

Regardless of how high your score is, the Department of Home Affairs does not accept “Home Editions” or “Remote Proctored” tests. You must sit your exam at an authorized physical testing centre.
