Migration Tasmania has released a important update regarding the Tasmanian Skilled Migration State Nomination Program for the remainder of the 2025–26 program year.
Below is a complete summary of the Tasmania State Nomination March 2026 quota update:
March 13, 2026 Update: Application Invitation Rounds
Due to the high volume of applications, Migration Tasmania is currently limiting the number of new invitations to focus on processing applications already on hand. Registrations of Interest (ROIs) can still be submitted, but the following temporary measures are now in place until the 2026–27 allocations are announced by the Australian Government:
Subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa)
Gold Pass Only: Invitations are temporarily paused for any ROIs that do not attract a Gold pass.
Green Pass ROIs: If you have a Green pass, you will continue to be invited to apply for nomination within six months of submission. However, even if your application is approved, Migration Tasmania has warned that they may not be able to officially nominate you this program year if all allocation places are filled.
Subclass 491 (Skilled Work Regional Visa)
All Pass Colours: Invitations will continue to be issued for all pass colours (Gold, Green, Orange, etc.).
Reduced Volume: However, the overall number of invitations issued for the 491 visa will be significantly reduced for the remainder of the program year.
