Investment NSW has officially announced upcoming NSW invitation rounds April 2026 for both the Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) and the Skilled Work Regional visa (Subclass 491) – Pathway 2.

Here are the exact dates and the strict deadlines you need to meet to ensure your Expression of Interest (EOI) is considered.

NSW will be running the next invitation round for this highly sought-after visa in mid-April.

  • Invitation Round Date: Week commencing 13 April 2026

2. Skilled Work Regional Visa (Subclass 491) – Pathway 2 Round

For applicants targeting regional NSW, the next round for the Subclass 491 (Pathway 2) will take place later in the month.

  • Invitation Round Date: Week commencing 27 April 2026
  • Strict EOI Deadline: Your SkillSelect EOI must be completely updated and accurate by Close of Business (COB) Sunday, 26 April 2026.

Critical Reminders for All Applicants

Investment NSW has explicitly warned that these upcoming invitation rounds are highly competitive. Before the deadline hits, please ensure you check the following:

  • Eligible Occupations: Invitations will only be issued to candidates whose occupations are currently on the official NSW Skills Lists.
  • Points & Claims: Ensure every single claim in your EOI (including your English language test scores, skills assessments, and work experience dates) is accurate and valid. Claiming points you cannot prove when invited will lead to your application being refused.

Don’t Miss Your Chance!

With the deadlines fast approaching, now is the time to log into SkillSelect and ensure your profile is perfect. A single mistake on your EOI could cost you an invitation this round.
