Student visa subclass 500 allows International students study full time at a registered educational institution in Australia. International students are allowed to work for limited hours only. This visa allows you to remain and study in Australia up to 5 years.
To be Eligible for Student visa subclass 500 you must :
- Be 6 years or older
- Provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for a full time CRICOS registered course
- Provide Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for yourself and your family member for the length of Study in Australia
- Have access to financials for stay of yourself and your family members
- Show evidence of your English Language skills required for your course of study in Australia
- Be a genuine temporary entrant and intended to return home after studying in Australia
- Must have enrolments in Australian school for any dependent children between 5-17 years of age
- Prove that you have welfare arrangements if you are under 18 years of age
- Meet health and character requirements
Visa Compliance :
When student visa is granted to an international students, there are some visa conditions imposed on your student visa and you need to comply with all those visa conditions. Some of the requirements of visa conditions are :
- You must remain enrolled in course and maintain satisfactory course progress
- You must notify your change of address
- If you have changed your mind to do study at lower AQF level, then you must apply for new student visa
- If you want to work while your course in progress, you must follow work restrictions on your visa.
If you breach any of your student visa conditions, Department of Home Affair may cancel your visa
