This is a permanent visa that allows aged parents of an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen to live in Australia permanently.
Who can apply for this Visa
This visa is suitable for you if ;
- you have a child who is an Australian citizen, an Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen
- your child is sponsoring you for the visa
- your sponsoring child is settled in Australia
- you meet the balance of family test
- your sponsoring child provides Assurance of Support
- You have not already applied for or hold a Sponsored Parent (Temporary) subclass 870 visa at the time of application
- You must meet the age Requirement. It means you must be at the age where you are eligible for an Age Pension in Australia
- you must be in Australia at the time of application and at the time of grant
- you are ready to pay higher visa application charges for the faster processing of application
- your child must provide written undertaking to provide support, accomodation and financial assistance for the 2 years of residency in Australia
- you meet the health and character requirement.
