Tasmania Skilled Migration Program 2025-26 Now Open for ROI
Tasmania continues to attract skilled migrants through its progressive and inclusive Tasmania Skilled Migration Program 2025–26.
Migration Tasmania has officially opened the Application Gateway for new Registrations of Interest (ROI) under updated program settings and pathways.
The program aims to support Tasmania’s workforce needs by welcoming skilled professionals in healthcare, technology, and other high-demand sectors.
The Migration Tasmania Application Gateway is now accepting new Registrations of Interest.
Applicants can submit their ROI through the online portal, which manages all skilled nomination applications for Tasmania.

The Australian Government has not yet finalised state and territory nomination allocations. Nominations will only be confirmed once these allocations are released.

Tasmania has added several new health and allied health occupations to the Subclass 190 Skilled Employment Pathway, making it easier for healthcare professionals to qualify for nomination after six months of employment.

A significant Tasmania Skilled Migration Program update for 2025–26 is the inclusion of remote work eligibility under the Tasmanian Established Resident Pathway.
Under this pathway, remote work refers to employment where individuals living in Tasmania perform duties for companies located outside the state — whether in another part of Australia or overseas.
Example:
A software engineer living in Hobart who provides backend development services to Google in California is recognised as a remote worker under this pathway.
However, if you deliver services to Tasmanian clients from outside the state, this will not be considered remote work under Migration Tasmania’s definition.
