If you’re planning to apply for the Temporary Skill Shortage (subclass 482) visa, be aware that the English test requirements have recently changed. From 13 September 2025, applicants must meet the updated test options, minimum scores, and retake conditions.
The changes affect all 482 visa applications lodged on or after 13 September 2025. If you completed your test before this date, the previous requirements remain valid.

👉 Tests must be completed at secure centres. At-home or online versions (such as IELTS Online, OET@Home, or MET Digital) are not accepted.
5. Validity Period
English test results are valid for three years from the original test date, even if you retake a single skill later. Your visa application must be lodged while the test remains valid.
Can I use an online or remote test?
No. Online or at-home English tests are not accepted for the 482 visa.
Can I use the One Skill Retake option?
Yes, but only if the test date was on or after 13 September 2025.
